Terrorists and their supporters are working to destabilize our country and trigger chaos: Erdogan

Making a written statement on the terror attack in the Ortaköy district of Istanbul, President Erdoğan said: “Those aiming at the peace of our nation, and their pawns, are working to destabilize our country and trigger chaos by demoralizing our people through their heinous attacks that also target civilians.”

I strongly condemn the terror attack that took place in the early hours of 2017 in the Ortaköy district of Istanbul.

I wish Allah’s mercy upon our security personnel and citizens who lost their lives in the attack, and pay homage to our foreign guests killed in this deplorable incident.

I offer my condolences to victims’ relatives, and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.

Those aiming at the peace of our nation, and their pawns, are working to destabilize our country and trigger chaos by demoralizing our people through their heinous attacks that also target civilians.

However, we, as the nation, will never give passage to these dirty games, further uniting together and preserving our calmness.

Turkey, continuing its fight against terror, is extremely determined to do whatever it takes in the region, too, to ensure the security and peace of its citizens.
